Will we ever get a game like Catherine ever again?
Nope, which sucks. It felt like a return to those very offbeat Japanese PS1 games. I miss games that experimented with mechanics like that, combining a 3D visual novel type thing with a weird puzzle platformer. Everything is being condensed down to very basic 3D action, RPG, Shooter, 2D Platformer.

Only by some no-name studios or offbeat projects. Though none of them will have the polish Catherine has

Maybe the next time they need to test the new engine before making a full Persona game on it.

Catherine was made with Gamebryo, while P5 used it's own custom-made engine.
Catherine is fine as it is. If atlus wants to make another experimental game, it should be a completely new game instead of Catherine 2

Hopefully, Atlus looks like they're doing something experimental with re fantasy and funding it using P5's success. If SMTV does well maybe they'll do another offbeat game
release it on pc first

They took a lot from Catherine though. Beyond the experience even, they straight up gave Joker Vincent's walk cycle

Nope, too problematic
It's kinda sad. Catherine apparently surpassed sales expectations in both Japan and the US, but the team probably won't do spiritual successor
I wish some ambitious indie dev would make a completely derivative game focused on the multiplayer with netplay. Anybody else hype for the tournament at Evo coming up?
Have a art book btw.

multiplayer is cancer
Persona 5 felt like that at the start but it gets cheesy super fast. Why can't there be a modern, mature Persona game? I hate the faggy Japanese teenager archetype that Persona utilizes, literally the plot to P3-P5 are all the same and the characters and s-links are mostly fucking lame and boring. Barely any interaction at all unlike Yakuza which does the Japanese setting a lot better because it's at least about badass gang members. I still need to play P1 and P2 but SMT on consoles/PC from now on would be the shit. I just don't wanna drudge through some teenager's fantasy of being a special snowflake anime character in a modern Japanese setting, like I said I would rather play Yakuza, it's just a shame that Persona's premise, art style and music is wasted on such boring, awkwardly written games.

I've been starting to feel like this too
I feel like I grew out of persona style characters, maybe I don't watch enough anime
I always have nearly no social links in persona games and the ones I do have are with the rare older people they let you link with
I usually end up picking hardest difficulty and play the games as pure smt dungeon crawlers with high budget

I hope not
>a game about drinking with your lads at the local, cheating on your gf, having a job
there's no audience for it
