It's a good game that can be thanked for kickstarting a genre, but calling it the best is stupid. For some reason doom has seen a sudden resurgence of obvious 15 year olds who've only now played the original discovering how good it is. We get it, we understood how revolutionary it was two decades ago

I think it's because of how since the Doom comic, "rip and tear" became a meme and people wanted to do it in the gameplay of Doom.

anyone he with knowledge of commands? Is there command for gzdoom for scalling players to monster damage?
Playing D4T, enjoy the hell out of it, but and I find endgame weapons and bonues overpowered, it's no fun to oneshot everything

Lately Ive switched my opinion to Doom II being the best ever. It edges out Doom by a hair, and I think the level design is underappreciated because people havent tried running through the game UV pistol start. Really made me learn and enjoy a lot of the levels I used to hate.
