Are we serious right now? Holy Jesus. This soundtrack. This soundtrack right here. The entire random encounter that turned out to be a very solid mini boss fight and out of nowhere this OST kicks in. Damn.
I apologize for shitposting about this game.

Half way through the game rn. Are there any other surprises like this one?

yeah, the music in BotW was sparse, but really effective
I liked it a lot more than most of the shit in TP and SS

have you climbed mount lanayru yet?
if not, go do that right now
The music in BotW is the best OST a Zelda ever had.
Plebs please refrain from replying to me.

wew, that's pretty far off. And i don't like to fast travel.

Depends where you are? There's always surprises in each region.

whereabouts are you? in Gerudo?
This song is like one of the three good songs in this game, the best one being Hyrule Castle of course.
Don't get your hopes up.

It wasn't as memor- actually it was. It was just not as Catchy i guess. Catchy in a good way. The music in both ganon fights was also kinda not fitting.

Hai

Catchy =/= good.

This song blew my mind when I first heard it. It's so different from the rest of the game, it's perfect for the final moments of the game.

h-hello?

The problem isn't really the individual tracks, the problem is how the music is implemented in game. Namely that 90% of the time you'll be listening to the same handful of minimalist piano ditties. Listening to music on YouTube isn't the same as experiencing the game, which is something most of /v/ tends to ignore.
am I doing something wrong? I've been playing for 50 hours and the only music I've heard is light piano stuff.

The music is used pretty effectively. What are you talking about?
Really like the Van Naboris theme

I don't see what's wrong with all of the music in the game being used appropriately.
>>382445653
it makes sense though since the game emphasises the sounds of your environment - be it wildlife nearby or Kass's music. If you had constant music in the overworld you'd miss those details.

I thought it was used perfectly. The songs just seamlessly tune into the perfect moments. I rarely even noticed that music started to play most of the time. I still remember the moment when I climbed the twin mountains, and this song subtly started to play https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcV4220T484
The only music that I find a bit jarring is the horse-riding music that plays every single time you jump on a horse. I rarely did that though so it wasn't a problem.
