Why is the level design so bad compared to the first game? I

Why is the level design so bad compared to the first game? I can't say i like any level on this game, Sunset Vista, Rolling Stones and others in first game were awesome, in Crash 2 all levels are kinda bleh save maybe jetpack levels. If there was Crash 1 with Crash 2 gameplay (like slide jump and tighter controls) that would be better than Crash 2.

Half of them would beat the game because they don't feel collecting all the gems is worth the effort and the other half will try to 100% because they want to get the canon ending

The first Crash is so comfy, Crash 2 the music is always so hectic and gives you stress
