Will this game be fun for me? I don't mind a bit of grinding to build/support stuff, but only if it has sense and brings something to the gameplay. When MC and Terraria were popular I had no problem spending time mining and getting blocks because in MC you create your mine structure at the same time, and in Terraria you always can find something new and interesting underground.

But I don't like it in Rust, where you just click on a tree for hours, or in Space Engineers where you click on asteroids for hours just to build the tiniest thing. (Love that game in creative, though).

I know that SV is not that kind of game where you build shit out of voxels, but I know that it has grind, and I wonder if that grind is meaningful or just clicking endlessly.

Sorry for the confusing post.
>>
>>382417312
the game is grindy in the sense that you have to water/find minerals to upgrade/craft everyday. It's pretty popular among girls and kids. My girlfriend and her son love it for some reason.
>>
>>382417496
>Her son

CUUUUUUU

if you can relax then this game is great.

when you are the stressed out restless leg guy who always need a quest and opposition then you will be bored, play call of duty or sportsgame_currentyear insted.
>>
>>382417312
The only grinding I can think of at all is fishing, but that's probably because I hate fishing in any game ever. You can go through the game and never bother with fishing so nbd.

I'm not sure where you heard it has a lot of grinding. It's a farm sim, but a pretty casual one. You can max out every attribute while simultaneously maintaining farm all within the time frame of the main story progression with proper time management.
>>
>>382417496
Only till you get proper watering gear, then it's a breeze.
>>

> Pull out at last second.

> Promise to add it post-release after it turns out people do want the developer to keep their original promise.

> Two years later, no multiplayer.

What a shitty developer.

>>
>>382417742
I like to relax but only if there's something meaningful to do. I'd gladly manage a farm if there's some technical depth. Even if it's casual.
>>
>>382417312
I found the game to be more comfy than terraria, but compared to terraria it's pretty aimless. Also, there isn't as much customization.

I say buy it. It has some nice waifus too.
>>
>>382417312
Just how fucking young are you that you don't have Harvest Moon as a point of reference
>>
>>382418070

You need to water plants daily for them to grow. You only can grow specific crops in specific seasons. Later on, you learn how to make sprinklers, making watering automatic for a certain area.

It has some casual, technical depth to it.

Being "intrigued" is not a reason to spend even a cent of my money. I need random people who feel the same way that I do about similar games to tell me if I will probably like or dislike this particular game.

It costs money to go to on a activity or get food, (Like you pay money for electricity and internet to play the game) but you don't pay the girl to go on a date with you. Generally.
>>
>>382417312
I started playing this awhile ago (currently year 2). It's pretty good for a harvest moon clone but lacks abit of charm. It gets pretty droll and repetitive in 2nd year when the formula remains the same and there isn't much "progress" to be had if you went hard in year 1.

The point I wanted to make in serving up this terribly absurd analogy is, that when something feels right and captures your attention, instead of teethering on the edge and making it a battle to convince yourself, just take the leap of faith and get the game/ask out the girl.

I played this over the last few weeks. The management aspects are pretty basic. The fun of the game for me was discovering what you can do and exploring the areas and professions. The actual gameplay is pretty simple in terms of the management aspects, the progression comes from becoming more efficient to the point where earning money is trivial. After that the fun kind of dries up.

It's pretty casual in that it's not possible to "lose" or go bankrupt - there are no expenses in the game.

>and I wonder if that grind is meaningful or just clicking endlessly.
I guess that's really down to what would fulfill you in this kind of game.

Do you find the idea of building a farm with a bunch of different plants and a ranch with a bunch of different animals, both of those things requiring upkeep; all the while mining and fighting through dungeons to get better minerals to make better tools to make it so you can do the first two things even better, do you find the idea of doing that and watching your farm go from nothing to a powerhouse meaningful?

If it sounds like it might be interesting, I recommend it. If it sounds a little boring, you should probably watch a lets play of it or two.

Interactions with NPC's are fun and all the little romances are wholesome Penny didn't cheat, Dev confirmed, conspiracy theorists please go but they make up what to me is a smaller, but still very interesting part of the whole experience.

It's a neat little game and if the idea of it appeals to you I recommend picking it up.
>>
>>382419897

>Why are you

haven't you noticed that i do not respect your need for being told? no you have not noticed because nobody told you. you will never be told.
>>
It's fun.
But after hitting the two year mark and getting the statue of perfection I don't really have any motivation to go on.
What's the point?
I guess I could slowly automate my farm with iridium sprinklers till I basically don't have to do anything while making a gorrillian, but that just seems like a grind fest.
I'm happy with my humble greenhouse starfruit vineyard

One of her events has one of the kids say she and Sam were climbing a tree, she reacts in a shocked way. People thought Sam was fucking her against a Tree, CA came out and said that isn't happening.

It's not a very well written bit.

Sounds good, thanks. Doesn't really matter now but by meaningful I meant doing actual gameplay (even if it's a simple minigame) and not just clicking a button repeatedly.

That's what I think it was. It's been a while since I played last, but I played the latest update and I don't recall having that issue, so I guess CA fixed it?
>>
>>382420597
>Did you decide to buy it?

Yes, I had almost the exact amount on my steam wallet for a while. Wanted to spend it on something that is a game that I haven't played yet & interested in and at the same time doesn't get updated much anymore. I feel like every new game is early access because you just get a much better product if you wait for patches to come out.

Bitch, you can be a miner if you want, but being a swordsman isn't a viable career.

Fighting monsters for a living is not a viable career.

I'm a bit bothered by the fact that you can't butcher your animals. Seriously, the only point of having pigs is to get fucking truffles? And rabbits give you wool? All this bullshit just to not piss animalists off.
