Actually, I'd say that really successful but easy-to-replicate Flash games killed Flash as a game medium.

Two big ones were Kingdom Rush and Cookie Clicker.

The OG icebreaker is great. In fact, I'm playing it right now because its the only game I can play with a laptop trackpad. Icebreaker 2 is where the started selling out to rovio mobile ( the angry birds people). It was what started the downfall of nitrome.

It was mobile. Before, there was little no money in it, but games that were at least mediocre and functional could get some attention. Now there are millions of developers all trying to make the next fever game, the market is extremely saturated, and pretty much no one can get any attention or money.

Flash games were made by bored white teens, mobile games are pumped out by teams of pooinloos and chinks.
