Tsuki Ga Kirei literally fixes everything Love Story did wrong. Love Story isn't as bad as I made it sound and it's still better than the vast majority of Japanese romances, but it's a step down from Tsuki.

I admit as the poster championing Tsuki in here, this one comes damn close. That said, I think Tsuki still wins out as it's a pure romance while CCS is a maho shoujo, which meant it had to drag out its love story with gay moon magic.

Kare Kano did so much more in its good half, which is 18 episodes so it's more than Tsuki ga Kirei's 12, than Tsuki ga Kirei did. It not only explored the character's relationship, but also the different flaws they have as individuals and the trials they face in fitting in with their environment and finding peace and happiness. All its side characters are likeable, sympathetic and have their own stories, they aren't merely treated as obstacles for the main couple's relationship like Tsuki ga Kirei did. It wasn't only a love story like Tsuki ga Kirei was, it was also a story about loving oneself and the love between friends and even between rivals.

Wow. No shit? Tsuki is a love story that focuses on a single couple, they didn't really have time to expand on any others. Other characters being 'obstacles' is laughable and overblown. The conflict coming from Chinatsu and Hira is like 2 episodes worth of shit, with nearly every other character supporting them.

Kare Kano is an anime rendition of a manga that leaves many points unresolved, as is the nature with unfinished adaptations. Tsuki is the concise package. You will not leave this anime disappointed that it ended. Sad? Heartbroke? Yeah. But definitely not disappointed.

That was just written to set up the ensuing drama and misunderstandings that would later occur, a catalyst that would prompt Kotaro to publicly admit his relationship with Akane. It did nothing for Hira as a character. I know that you fucking know this yet you still somehow use it as an argument.
