In regards to Zelda BotW, it all depends on your hardware now. With Cemuhook (a .dll file) it allows cutscenes to work and even gives about a 10 or so fps boost.

I have a Sandy Bridge i5-2500k, AMD Radeon HD 7870 (2gb), and 8gb ram computer from 2012 and I'm currently getting around 24+ fps everywhere outside villages.

I'm very tempted to overclock my sandy bridge a little to 4ghz, but I still have the stock fan. so maybe not.
