Whenever I act evil in games I get this horrible knotting in my stomach, I feel anxious and guilty. I try to be bad but always end up loading a previous savw and doing the right thing. I feel extremely uncomfortable playing the bad guy. Its why I never comleted GTA 5. I played as Trevor and I remember thinking, this mans a nasty prick, I dont wanna play as this guy, especially the way he bullied his cousin and ruined his flat. Turned it off right then and there.

It's not that I don't like being evil it's just every game seems to actively resist you being truly evil. And generally if you are evil it's in some overtly destructive and combative way. Most games don't let you be a Machiavellian evil. Your evil path is usually shorter, and louder and with less companions because everyone pisses and moans about you making wrong choices.

It was totally inconsistent with his build up through the recordings and writings. The whole time I thought he was actively recruiting you to help him as an ally against evil, but the twist was that he was waiting for you to show up so he could detonate some nukes? It's like he lost all his marbles all of a sudden after leaving the casino or big mt (can't remember which one he was at b4 the divide.) Also the divide was built up to be a small community thriving without the protection of NCR or House, and the nukes where there to be exploited or something...but it was just a wasteland of hostiles.

Fuck man it was so confusing bc I thought Ulysses was a compelling anti hero-hero type who would need your help but it turns out he was just a loony villain who spoke in vague prophecies and incoherent babble.

Maybe make him a companion at first, and have his little innocently-seeming flying robot actively corrupt his mind via implants...maybe the robot is a House sleeper cell or something...idk.

I just realized Bethesda totally ripped a ton of shit from Obsidian and put it into Skyrim

Actually, yeah. Bethdesa has an extremely inflated ego and can't stand it when someone is outdoing them, hence why they completely disregard the existence of New Vegas and constantly make it a pain in the ass to mod new releases of their games.

Bethesda and Gearbox are my two least favorite game development studios because they've managed to brainwash so many fucking people into thinking their shit is good and normies always lap their shit up without a second thought, this goes double for Bethdesa.
