ITT things only 90s kids will understand.
>getting home after a long day at school and turning on that PS1 after being away from any kind of technology since last night (smartphones didn't exist, and elementary kids didn't use to have cellphones like they do today)
>ps1
>>382369983
>PS1
That's not how you spell Personal Computer.
>he didn’t have a gameboy
>>382369983
I miss my gamecube
oh waitI still own it
>>382369983
More like
>get home immediately so I can turn on the N64 and get in those precious 2 hours with the game I was currently renting
>>382369983
I feel you, Anon.
Also being scared of games like Resident Evil 3, which nowadays I admit it wasn't even that scary.
>>382369983
itt: only things faggots would understand
>>382370330
>that kid who always played with his Gameboy alone during recess
Please don't tell me you were THAT kid
>>382369983
This is a g/a/y thread isn't it?
>>382370570
No we’d battle on Pokemon with a link cable
>unironically saying ''90's kids''
kill yourself, OP
>>382370815
Yeah, you and the weirdest kid in the class
>>382370512
Yup. Friday nights were when we usually went to Blockbuster to rent movies, or N64 games for me. Remember renting Hey You, Pikachu over and over for at least a month straight.
Not sure why, considering the game frustrated the ever living shit out of me as a kid.
>>382370979
And the other kids would normally be around cheering, guess an anime poster like you wouldn't know about it anyway, you were probably too autist to get near the other kids.
>>382370979
Nah with the popular kids. This is in the UK where playing games isn't weird.
>>382370979
Dumb weebposter
>>382370979
In my elementary school we didn't really have cliques within the classroom, basically the class was divided into all the boys hanging out together and all the girls hanging out together.
Pokemon was an event for all the boys when it happened.
>tfw neo /v/ will never know what vidya was like pre internet
>tfw changing your tv to channel 3 to get your console to work

>>382372142
There was a lot of shit we had to deal with back in the day that Im glad is gone.
I grew up with a 486sx IBM compatible manufactured by Phoenix, and I had to edit autoexec.bat files to get my shareware games to run properly.
>>382370552
SCHOOOOOOOOOOOLS OUT. FOE. SUMMUH!!!!!!
>>382369983
>(smartphones didn't exist, and elementary kids didn't use to have cellphones like they do today)
NO SHIT
>>382372063
how old are you that you played vidya during pre internet? you obviously don't mean pre internet. you likely mean before your poorfag ass got internet
>>382370979
Every boy in elementary school played Pokemon. We'd have a "bring your own toys" event at the end of every friday, and it basically meant everyone except the girls battled/traded Pokemon on their GameBoy.
This lasted until DBZ came along, at which point all the normal kids branched off onto the newest fad. Elementary school was pretty much over at that point, though.
>>382370979
Pokemon was insanely popular, at least when Red and Blue hit. If anything it was weird to be a young boy at the time and not have a GB with at least one version.
There was even an 'Elite Four' outside of our library where the best players sat on the steps and hung out during recess. A buddy of mine started selling Gameshark generated Pokemon to dumb kids and made extra cash as well.
Kids born in 2000 will be able to post here next year (assuming they respect the rules, which never happens kek)
>>382372063
I remember getting a TV with RCA cable inputs was one of the best things to happen to me because I kept having those cables lying around collecting dust and I fucking hated having to either unscrew RF Switches when I had to travel or daisy-chain them when I'm plugging the shit to my VCR or cable.
I was 7 when I figured that kind of shit out.
>>382372063
Nintendo channel 3 and Sega on channel 4.
>>382370979
almost everyone played pokemon back then.
It wasn't hard to find someone to link battle with.
>>382373060
Do not yell at me young lady
>>382372952
For me, vidya was on 4, VCR on 3.

don't even bother it's oremo 2.0
>>382374375
No, I remember having so many shareware CDs that I didn't even know what to play next, I had to make priority lists in addition to huge retail game collections.
>>382374375
Yeah and I remember having more fun than I do now too.
>>382374375
Oh yeah, then of course when I got a job I bought a fucking ton of vidya. Its
>>382372063
>tfw somehow didn't even have internet until 2005/2006 despite being from a pretty wealthy and normal family
I have no idea what the fuck happened.
>>382374375
Do you mean like how long time felt back then between enjoying new games or were you just ultra poor?
>>382375803
buying games with your allowance is suffering
>place disc in ps1
>flip the console upside down and start playing
>bring gameboy
>school has banned gameboys because they're a bunch of totalitarian cunts who enjoy having the power to tell kids when it's okay to so much as sneeze
>"that kid" tells the teachers that you're playing gameboy during recess

I miss playing video games without a care in the world
Going to Ikea and playing Super Mario Bros on the NES setup.
Worms was my life back then.
>>382376829

Same here, it was rare as fuck to get a game between those things.
>>382369983
>and elementary kids didn't use to have cellphones like they do today

it's scary to see 8 year olds walking around with 950$ smartphones in their hands, fucking idiotic parents

I was born in 1993 though.

Coming home from school and playing Tetris coop cable with big sis.

>>382379835
i mean it isnt, he's just talking about The Imp of the Perverse
>not coming home from school and immediately fucking your mom
>>382380246
I had no idea Poe wrote about that. Are those just intrusive thoughts?
Also I remember an anthology of cartoon shorts that we used to watch on laser disc when I was a kid, probably hosted by Shelly Duvall, and one of the shorts was about a "bad word" (depicted as a tiny furry black thing that leapt from mouth to mouth at a party) that suddenly seems like a retelling of Imp of the Perverse.
>>382377239
>watching DBZ but not watching Beast Wars
Why the fuck not?
>>382372063
>tfw signing magazines
>tfw that one edition that had the mew bug explained in blue/red
Do vidya magazines even exist nowadays with any popularity? Feels they are completely irrelevant now considering how faster and free internet can be with information.
I still have a shittload of them packaged somewhere.
>>382381232
There are gaming magazines at the book store. Also anime and Linux publications. Who is buying this shit.
>Teacher is talking, i can see mouth moving but hear no sound.
