How is the pacing of Z compared to Kai? I can't decide which to watch. I know I could enjoy Z as long as something is always happening, but I can't sit through 3 episodes of Goku talking to Cell. But at the same time I'm worried Kai would cram way too much into 150 episodes considering how long Z was originally.

Does Z drag is basically what I'm asking? The pacing of Dragon Ball feels very smooth and natural to me, so if Z is fine compared to that, I'd rather just stick with Z.

Pacing is obviously way better in Kai but all the best moments of Z are absolutely neutered. Think of any major moment you loved in Z and look up the Kai version. I re-watched it all the way up to the end of Cell Saga a couple years ago and the hardest one to watch was Namek/Frieza. Good lord is that saga overrated. It was the worst with dragging and filler and the "5 minutes" will make you rage. Everything else was great though.

Honestly, I don't get all the comparisons coming from the Naruto/DBZfags. This game is only 20% complete and it is already the most technical DBZ game in the history of mankind.

Like, I don't think they realize that this game is going to be extremely difficult for them to pick up and actually be good at it. They wont even play it for week because it'll require a lot more brain power than Spamverse 2.

Had the same experience. Was on holiday in spain and went in a games shop whilst there, they had two games not available in the UK back then yet.

Was a choice of DB Final Bpout or DBZ Ultimate Battle 22, so I picked UB22.

Was wierd seeing a huge roster of characters that half of them, I'd never seen before, especially as future Trunks became my fave character and then cartoon network announced the Trunks Saga airing soon, good times.

I'm glad you guys made the thread, I love xenoverse and specially the improvements in xeno2 but my guy uses normal attacks and blast supers and the problem is that I literally can't find gear with stats that favor that, I don't want to lose a ton of health or ki either and I tried QQ bang recipes for that build and all I got was a ton of wasted cash and resources. All I want is something that boosts normal attacks, ki blasts and penalizes strike supers.

They already made female brolly, a character (brolly) that wasn't and still isn't, canon.
SSJ4 is loved by everyone and even Toriyama said that he loves SSJ4 design, so much so that he drew his own art of SSJ4 as a sign of appreciation for the design.

Kai basically cuts Z in half. No Garlic Jr. arc between Namek and Android. No excess filler besides the refinement of staying in Super Saiyan for the Cell Games. The Namek saga itself is a lot more to the point rather than beating around the push to get more time filled.

It's also way more accurate to the characters and the manga writing, compared to the old dub's liberties and turning Goku into some hero of justice.

S.Vegito is best card in the game.
Great damage, pretty much invincible against normal attacks, even against stronger types and his fucking counter (which happens EVERYTIME he gets hit with normals) causes a shit ton of damage too

Best card in the game if you aren't comparing it with LR Brolly or SS2 Gohan which can one shot kill pretty much anything

All started when I borrowed a game genie for something and saw cheats for DBZ games...

Eventualy, years and years later, UB22 and Final Bout got released in the UK by Atari when DBZ got really popular here but it always bugged me that they only brought over two of the three PS1 DBZ games...they never released DBZ legends here which was a shame, had it imported but back then but could only play it in black and white. I had some colour adaptor thing but whenever certain characters did certain specials, it'd make the tv screen roll and repeat constantly, unplayable.

The funi dub for Z took some liberties and changed things up a bit. Goku for example was and has always been distinctly someone fighting for the sake of fighting, even with a personal interest in protecting those around him. Funi had modified Goku to be more heroic, "ally of justice, nightmare to you" and all that. And that's one example I can think of off the top of my head.

Kai is basically the original japanese dialogue / manga dialogue more faithfully upheld.

You think that was nuts, imagine being a kid when you got Budokai 1 on the PS2. Toonami was just finishing up the Cell Saga and moving to the Buu Saga, and yet this game had Great Saiyaman hidden as an unlockable character. It wasn't quite a large spoiler, but it was perfectly timed since I remember playing the game and seeing Buu Saga Gohan driving in a car and everything around the same time.

I grew up reading the manga more than watching Z (which was airing at the time, but I was rarely allowed to watch TV). My point being I don't really have much nostalgia for the original anime because I wasn't able to watch it often.

And even though I grew up reading the manga a hundred times over, and Kai is a very literal 1:1 translation of the manga, desu Kai STILL feels rushed. The manga doesn't feel rushed at all, but when you animate 1:1 it feels rushed. It's pretty lousy they messed up what could have been an amazing adaption. It's like they only animated the panels from the manga for some fights, which makes certain fights feel really fuckin rushed (Nappa vs. Z fighters for example)

I think you're better off watching whatever you personally like more. Because both Z and Kai have undeniable flaws, both have things they did better than the other, both are decent. The only UNflawed work is the original manga, but I doubt you'll read that. I'll always be a >manga fag, but if you're into watching over reading I can see why someone would prefer Z or Kai. Both are valid desu

I really don't know why people complain about the anime so much, because I loved it's slower pace. I feel Z has the same pace as DB. Are you watching it in english or japanese (or something else)? Performances are important too. English dub for Z is atrocious (decent for DB as it was done later) and is much bettee in Kai because the VAs are older and more professional. Japanese dub got worse because they were already old and by the time of Kai they can't scream at the same pitch and stuff like that (especially Nakao as Freeza I feel). Brazillian dub is only good in Z and Kai is a blasphemy.

Friend summons. If you are high ranked, it is easy to pick a LR Gohan or Brolly for your team. Characters that can do +1 million damage easily.
You just need to get high ranked to see those LR starting to flooding your partner summon window

Bandai Namco is going to release a new season pass for the game. With Fighters being the 2018 Dragon Ball game, Bamco is going to prolong Xeno2 life cycle with more dlc.
More characters, story events, quests, items.

Xeno2 is a good investment now. A game that is going to get support for another year.

The payoff is so much better in the best moments of the show which is what I think made the show as popular as it is. Kai may be consistently better but it sucks the soul out of all the best moments that everyone remembers from back then.

How do you not like the dub? The only Japanese voice that I think is great is Goku's, not better than Sean, but I love it. Every other one is worse to me(but not bad.

And as far as the writing, I also think the dialogue was much better in these major scenes. All the memorable lines are from Funi. Goku going SS3 was another one that was way better in the original. Musically and writing.

I'm trying to build my super strike team for LR frieza, but getting medals for it is annoying. I already have everything, minus the bulma and turtle medals which only appear occasionally in baba's shop or when tournaments happens.
Can't dokkan awaken them until I get those medals which are unfarmable

It won't be for lore reasons. The big thing about super is how Goku and Vegeta are using god ki to raise their power and reach new levels.

SSJ4 can only be reached through normal sayian ki. It would make god ki irrelevant, which is nonsensical lore wise since it was established that god ki > normal ki

SSB is about ki control, the Limit Break will most likely be about perfecting that ki control with kaioken added on top, so no strain at all and Goku can still pull out his all with it. It has no reason to look like an ape because it isn't really tapping on Saiyan genetics.

As much as I loved SS4 there is no way it's going to happen with the current cast. No matter how much you retcon it would have to be horrible shoehorned in. It just sucks because I prefer it way more than these supposed god forms but it would have had to have been an official form before the god stuff happened for them to go back to it.

Only thing I can think of is Trunks reviving Vegeta and Goku in his timeline and them acheiving SS4 in that timeline and have another saga with ssb goku and vegeta fighting alongside them. Then vegito fusing with gogeta.

You have some really good agl cards you need them all dokkaned before you even think about taking on Buuhan. Good thing is The SSJ4s come out in a week so you can take a friend Vegeta and fuck him up. Might be able to solo it with him alone since you have some of the best tanks in the game to take hits for you.
