Crash 1 is pretty damn tough, but hardly the hardest platformer, even for its contemporaries. Maybe it was one of the hardest 3D platformers of the fifth generation, but games from the previous two gens totally outpace Crash in terms of difficulty.

It was tough as shit but also had unprecise controls and it's unclear where you can land or stand, which played a big role in the difficulty. From what I've heard they didn't fix that, so I won't buy it again.

Has anyone else noticed that jumping on the bounce boxes and the turtles are way harder? With the turtles when yoy bounce on them, the bottom of their shell isn't flat, so you can actually fall off when bouncing on it. Playing the High Road level is damn near impossible unless you run across the railing instead of jumping on the main path
