Since most old methods aren't working exactly well, i found that Tomb Time is probably the best on-foot level to do it.

The games are all pretty much exactly the same, but Crash 1 has been updated so that clear gems can be obtained if you die, while colored gems still require you to ace the level.

I never played Crash 1 as a kid so it has no nostalgia for me. I started out with that and beat Papu Papu before I loaded up 2 since it was still installing. The fucking music and gameplay are almost exactly the same. It's unreal. I'm so hyped to try 3.
