I know lots of people dislike Dark Souls 3 but I hated how 80% of the chests in the early game were Mimics. Mimics are supposed to be a surprise, not an expectation.

Actually weird thing, that wasn't a new mimic. The standing mimics were from Dark Souls 1, the quadruped upside down mimics were from Dark Souls 2.

I hate mimics that are actually strong. They should be relatively weak, but they get you by surprise. Almost every game seems to give them tons of health and damage-dealing capability so even when you know it's a trap, you can get fucked over by it.

Do the mimic chests breathe in DS3 or did I just see some sort of visual glitch? I could have sworn it briefly opened its lid one time just a little bit, but I never saw it happen again due to my impatience.
