A person who likes to support, either because someone has to do it and they may as well take up the role or they aren't confident in their fighting ability if the game is more action/skill based.

I play support if i can still get kills or dps while keeping people up.

Usually they are highly egotistical, often fully narcissistic. They want to be 'skilled' and 'needed' and have a massive fear of competition. So they pick a class which they perceive to have a legitimate excuse for everything when their is a failure. Have you known a healer to ever just admit they couldn't do their job or did they always try to imply it was someone else's fault?
Fuck healers, the only ones I tolerate are ones who are also skilled at doing damage/killing and are healing for diversity.

Determines the game. I like games where I don't just have to heal, I can do multiple things as well as heal. Games like WoW where if you play a healer you can only literally sit there and play whack-a-mole is absolutely boring as fuck, but something like Overwatch where Zenyetta can deal damage, heal and debuff people is the best.

I like playing Mercy because I get to support the whole team singlehandedly and the gameplay turns more into positioning and awareness which I find really interesting. You have to be aware of all 12 players, not just the enemies within your cone of vision. I also find healing tense but never stressful. No matter what game I'm playing I end up really chilled out playing support.

Someone who's fucked off with nobody else going healer and decides to fill the role themselves and grows to like it.

Mercy is just generally fun to play. Healing someone as her is satisfying because of the visuals and audio ques especially, you have the power to turn team fights around and you get to fly around the entire time. Swooshing all over the map in a heated firefight, avoiding the enemy and healing up your allies is a lot of fun and pretty unique as far as playstyles in shooters go.

It started like that for me, but now I can't remember the last time I played DPS. Healer and tank are way more fun IMO. Winston, Dva, Zenyatta, Zarya, Ana, they're all fun.
