It's a rock solid FPS/TPS hybrid that blends the two very well, and has a unique gimmick of using live animals and insects as ammunition that you can scavenge the surroundings for.

It's also the first 3D Oddworld that really makes the most of its setting and characters. Munch was a botched, rushed effort (thanks to EA) but they had a lot more control over SW. So if you dig the Abe games you're gonna love Stranger.

Just make sure you get the HD remaster

Oddyssey and Exoddus are two of my favourite games. The transition to 3D seemed to lose the magic the first two had given the 3D graphics at the time vs the earlier pre-rendered style.

It was fucking great. I had never played an Oddworld game prior but it was really immersive, funny, had a neat ammo system, and got surprisingly deep with its themes as the game progressed
