I know they've had lore prior to 4 (3 terminals and etc.) but I'd rather he just be removed completely as a in game character. I'd rather a rampant AI or something just be responsible for Forerunner tech running around causing trouble. Could make for some interesting parallels for Cortana's rampancy.

Pretty much agree with you on all fronts there, it's not even rocket science. It's hard to believe how much 343 has fucked this series up.

I also wouldn't mind some games based around earlier missions during the Human x Covenant war. Maybe telling the stories of other Spartan IIs, ODSTs, & maybe Spartan IIIs. That way you can still have the Covenant as an enemy so the writers don't have to focus so much on establishing them.

The Human/Ex-Covie interactions just seemed to drop off after 2, even 3 felt like a step down. Where were the allied Grunts and Hunters from 2? Although, admittedly, Elites did show up pretty often in 3 to compensate. Would've also been nice to see the aliens use human weapons more often. Like I really want to see a Hunter with a UNSC minigun built into its arm.
