Why are you not playing as a Rhodok lord?

Can I make an army of Huscarls,Rhodok Crossbowmen, and Marmedukes and keep them through the whole game?

Units lose morale upon fighting other units of the same ethnicity. They will desert if their morale is too low. Units are fine killing their own countrymen if there is a large variety of food waiting for them at the end of the day, though.
