No. I've been in the alpha for a few weeks now (thanks to being a relevant name in the paragon community) and it's just a mediocre game. I'm more looking forward to the new orcs must die. They seem like they're going to be direct competitors, only orcs must die knows what it wants out of itself, and fortnite is trying to do everything all at once like dungeon defenders, and will fail because of it. That said, it's still a month away from it's launch (oh sorry, "early beta" that exists to get money from suckers, the game is guaranteed 100% going f2p in 2018, anyone who pays to play it now is a retard.) so there's a chance stuff could change, but I dislike the core idea of the game being "go out and fight notzombies in random areas for random color coded loot and return to your base for a horde every now and then". I wish there was more focus on defense and building up an area.

That was my idea initially, too. Build up a base in the middle of a city or some shit and be prepared for big bosses that spawn, but it's all instanced type stuff. Fairly seamless but it's still hop into a portal to go to town from your base type shit, and it's jarring.

As for it's building mechanics, it really isn't that much better than what you saw in orcs must die 2. I'd advise you to check that out if you ever find it cheap (or just pirate it, whatever). It's a lot smoother and well defined, since it's designed for a controller, but it's not doing anything revolutionary.

It really feels like a F2P game, for 40 fucking dollars this game is a ripoff.
