I'd say so. Afterbirth is mostly solid, adds tons of fun items and item synergies. Afterbirth+ is where it gets iffy, lots of really bad design choices implemented, but some pretty good things too. AB+ also gives you access to the workshop stuff and there are a good few pretty interesting mods. I'd say hold off on either until you're sure you like the game first.

Endless Legend I couldn't get into, the visuals are too cluttered and I'm already used to Civ.
Bioshock Infinite isn't great. It's not 100% trash like /v/ will tell you but it's just alright.
Melty Blood has about three active players left online and they will absolutely ruin your life.
Evil Within I've heard is mediocre.
Dragon's Dogma is controversial for a reason, you REALLY have to be patient in order to get to the good stuff.

I can't really recommend you anything because I can't gather what type of games you're into, but I can definitely say that if you're not 100% certain on the games I mentioned, try and find other things.

I played the original binding of isaac to death, paid full price for rebirth/afterbirth/afterbirth+ combo (way too pricy) and have literally played 2 hours in the year and a half since. Realized I have no desire to ever play it again.

Also got the Oddboxx a couple years back even though I have Odyssey on disc because I wanted exodus in my steam library, and I haven't bothered replaying stranger's wrath or munch's odyssey. That was like $4 on sale though and I still don't regret it because odyssey/exodus are in my like top 5 favorite games ever.

"Indie" isn't even a genre, so you're basically filtering by budget, and I think we have enough evidence in 2017 that big publishers with big budgets do not always make good games. There are a lot of good indie games out there, even though the nature of independent development almost guarantees that most indie games will be crap.

I also think twice about filtering any user-generated tag. Steam users are stupid as fuck and will probably put "Indie" on any 2D game whether it's indie or not.

I want my fighting to mean something. If maybe 3-4 day/night cycles between rebuilds it wouldn't be as bad, but the way the vanilla game set it up there was basically no other way to play besides sneaking around until someone inevitably spotted you through a tree from 3km.

I don't deny that FC2 did some great things with FPS mechanics (physical map, buddy system, the fire physics, etc), but the encounter design was beyond fucked.

Do you enjoy Obsidian games because it has the typical strengths and weaknesses.

Writing is great, story is very interesting. Healthy mix of wacky James Bond and serious Jason Bourne aesthetic. Your choices have consequences and there are multiple endings and mission outcomes.

Gameplay is decent enough as long as you focus on Stealth instead of Combat or Gadgets (you have to pick 1 at the beginning of the game). Shooting and throwing controls are clunky as shit, making combat and gadgets extremely frustrating. But stealth controls are fine.

Personally I enjoyed it a lot, got a good 40 hours out of it.

Drop Project Cars and get Assetto Corsa instead. Get Episode 1 and 2 for Half-Life 2 as well, they're pretty cheap and definitely worth it.

Buy both now, play Dogma first.

Play order for dogma is

>Then do post-game questline
>Then enter new game+, recover your pawn and equipment, and go straight to the DLC area
>Do DLC area 2~3 runs total
>Keep going until you're satisfied

Protip: No matter what class you ultimately decide to main, getting at least 1 red class to max is recommended for the health boost. If you aren't playing a mage, don't ever play the mage or sorcerer because their stat growth is horrendous. The only exception is Magick Archer which needs a mage background for the magic growth.

Tropico 5 is a different category. It's a Caribbean dictator themed city builder.
