Despite having played and really loved a lot of JRPGs I've only beaten a handful and usually just kind of stop around the end. Not out of any difficulty but because final dungeons in a JRPG are, without fail, boring slogs that aren't any fun to play. Same goes with post-game bonus dungeons and super bosses.

I haven't played a "true" game in a while. Last 3 games I played were Life is Strange, Tales from Borderlands and Taletell's Batman. The last game I played was Horizon and I stopped cause I got bored with it

My problem with open world games is that most have too much repetition, since a lot of devs will cram in the same few mission types over and over again. And if the gameplay isn't nuanced or varied, then these become chores. I'd much rather play a well-crafted linear title than an uninspired open world game again. Although, those aren't particularly abundant either.

I have to beat jrpgs in one playthrough. If I stop playing for a month or so, I forget what's happening in the story, feel totally lost and drop the game forever. Xenoblade and Radiata stories are the only jrpgs I've beaten, only because some other release or personal stuff in my life didn't distract me from them. I've made it half way through at least half a dozen jrpgs I would probably otherwise enjoy because of this.

I've spent so many years playing on consoles that now that I finally built a gayming PC I can't enjoy it. All that shit I hated is back: crashes, errors, driver updates, hardware issues, "can I run that?!" etc. The things I used to like such as the keyboard and mouse are either a hindrance or I don't care like playing music during the game which I now do with my Bose speakers anyway. I find virtually no value in having the benefit of quickly searching something online or using Skype because all that's now on your phone or laptop that's next to you anyway. Even the better graphics are kinda meaningless when I don't care if they're not ultra max settings and games usually run better on consoles anyway.

Although I have spent a good amount of time finding fixes for games or figuring out why a controller won't work and what to do. Instead of fucking playing.

And even the games are fucking shit. Inferior console ports or new versions of games that I used to love that have been dumbed down to the extreme (looking at you Total War). All that indie shovelware doesn't make up for it either.

I totally regret getting a PC. It hasn't been worth it at all.

I think Lisa is an absolutely dogshit game that only contrarians on /v/ bring up whenever they need something to try an 1up Undertale

The characters and story are above a stage and the music is pretty good.

Yet the game suffers from constant performance issues like screen tearing and delayed button input. Input isn't that bad in combat but rather when you are close to a ledge or end of a section that leads to a ledge where you fall and take damage or die.

The save system if awful to where you can sit through 15 minutes worth of dialogue on top of 15 minutes of gameplay. Which would be fine except combat is the worst part. Every encounter feels like the game going "LOLOLOL I TROLL YOU!" I heard it was hard, but it's not. It's unbelievably unfair and unbalanced to where by your 4-5 enemy encounter, if you're lucky, you will get a game over because you can't do shit to heal or defend

I suck at FPS now

I remember playing Halo combat evolved when I was 13 and felt like one of the best players around. All I had to do was look at my ping, and would know how far to lead my bullets by since hit detection was way different then other fps games. It also solidified in me to ALWAYS main pistols even if their shit in other games

Back when I was underaged, some dude was running an IRC-based Kingdom Hearts RP and I wanted in, so I created a self-insert character with the partners "Woody" and "Screwy". The guy instantly banned me, thinking I was making a crude sex joke. I don't think Overwatch has any redeeming factors. Its a lazily put together game that tries to be everything at once when it comes to playstyles but fails to do any remotely well. The art design is a mess and makes the game look like a korean free to play MMO. Movement is bland and boring even with the abilities which don't really do anything interesting, especially since rocket jumping is actively mocked instead of taking advantage of it. Heroes are poorly thought out (Lets have one who flies! And makes the entire team look away from the enemy for them alone.) or just lazy (Its the Medic but with a dash and it can float). It is the most bland, generic, boring game to exist next to Minecraft and COD. No soul, no personality, just a hobbled together mess of other games and vague ideas of what it wants to be but unable to actually hold itself together when looked at critically. Only retention is people wanting to feel special for being good at a game that makes it easy to achieve a higher score and be able to flaunt it as if it was a show of actual mastery of the system instead of just playing a class that makes it easy.

Pretty much just practice and time, and legitimately put forth focus and effort on that which you want to improve upon. My girlfriend digs action games and MMOs like Blade & Soul, and sits down and puts forth a lot of time and effort to get that shit down when getting into a new one. The only character she was great at in OW was Tracer, because she enjoys anything fast-paced and "annoying" for others to play against, and Tracer generally meshed well with what she likes most and has had experience in, which is anything that goes FAST, but she wants so badly to be better at Widow/sniping in general.

I say that to say it just takes you putting forth effort to git gud at that which you don't excel at. Like my girlfriend is good at Tracer and action games because that's what she's spent the majority of her time doing, same with you and the games you're good at. REALLY just takes time, focus and dedication.

Despite the fact that I had a ps2/psp/ps3/ps3/ps4, NGC/WII/WIIU, GBA/DS/3DS and a 360 and I had a atleast 10 games for every system I owned (except for the 360 where I had like only 3 games for)
Untill last year I hadn't actually played a single western game.
Literally all the games I owned and had actually played (as in I got atleast halfway through the game) were made in japan.
It wasn't even a conscious decision it was just every hame I was interested in playing or appealed to me were made by japanese developers.
When I realized how much of a fucking weeb I was I went out to a second hand game shop anf bought a whole bunch of western games that I heard were good and looked kinda fun to me.
When I got home, from the western games that I just bought I choose to play the game that interested me the most first.
It was dark souls.

Holy shit, I do this so much. A friend of mine reads all the Bullshit about the story of every game we play. He tried to get me to watch an hour long fucking video on the kingdom hearts storyline. Fuck off I just want to level up and get my new skill or weapon. It a game has un skippable cut scenes I'll probably not play it.

I did this too, I had a serious problem with drinking soda.
I drank like 2 litres of diet coke a day(I drank diet coke because I liked the taste better than normal coke for some reason).

Lisa came out before undertale, and it's one of, if not my favourite indie game. I've beaten it on pain mode both when I torrented it, and when I bought it.
