Fuck I got stonewalled at Griffon and Nelo Angelo my first playthrough of DMC1 yet Nightmare only even gave me a hint of trouble in his final fight, and only when he's at low HP and the screen starts filling up with projectiles.

I'd ask how, but then again in 3 I only ever got stuck at Cerberus and everything else was smooth sailing.
I still find DMD Mundus and Nightmare 3 harder than anything other than DMD Vergil 3, though.

Vergil 3 on DMD still isn't as bad as DMD Mundus 2 or Nightmare 3. Summoned Swords are a giant pain but for the most part can be dodged easily once he gives them a formation. I remember being stuck on Mundus 2 for 3 days before I beat him.
