1-6 and below are classic sprite jrpg's, turned based, and excellent. If you want that classic 16-bit feel with wonderful soundtrack. Each puts their own twist on the party building.

7-9 are like 1-6 except much more cinematic (at least to the extent that the ps1 can be cinematic) and have amazing soundtracks.

10 is quality as well. Turn-based with ps2 graphics. Different than previous entries in that it is VERY cinematic and lacks a world map but is still great.

11 is mmo. I'm not a big mmo fan so I have little info about it.

12 and 13 I never played so idk.

14 as you know is one of the most popular mmos right now and I played it for a while but I don't have the motivation to grind and grind and grind so I dropped it. It was good tho.

So yeah. Go with whatever type of game you feel like playing.

Depends what you own. Since i assume you own a ps4 for ffxv, 7 is available now, 12 next month, id say start with either of those. 14 is fantastic if you have the time. All the others are worth playing but the ps1 and before is probably easiest to emulate if you dont own any other consoles or a beefy pc
