No son. I pretty much hated MGSV.
MGS4 at least has great gameplay, actual maps and DESIGN to it, a finished, good plot, real-life weapons, and non-mute Snake.
Oh, and miles better MP.

The plot of MGS4 is one of the worst plots ever made.
It's so retardedly bad that not only it made MGS4 a legitimately bad videogame, it ruined MGS2, damaged MGS3, and spawned PW and MGSV since they revolved around the retarded plot twists of MGS4.

I think the only MGS game I would replay would be the Big Boss games. MGS3 was my favorite level design wise and the NG+ stuff would be cool to see, I know there's a ton of post game content I missed with PW, GZ is the tightest and most cohesive of any of the MGS games while also being the shortest, and Infinite Haven for MGSV looks cool.

Not that anon, but I agree that the level design is a bit boring. The first two acts prioritize set pieces over giving the player actually interesting areas to sneak through and explore. I don't think they're awful, but they certainly aren't enough to redeem the game given how shit the other three acts are and how terrible the balancing is.

All the levels have this veneer of being sprawling and having lots of possible routes, but in reality your options are very limited and the game aggressively funnels you towards one route that is clearly laid out for your convenience.
I was also disappointed by how you couldn't actually affect the outcome of battles between the NPC factions.

It's not. The gameplay to cutscene ratio is all fucked up and Shadow Moses is not fun to play through. The cutscenes are so long, boring and shitty I don't see how anyone can survive a second play through without skipping everything. At that point you might as well be replaying TPP missions since that actually has good gameplay, level design and controls.
