Did you like Taro's game?
>>3822493582B > Devola > 9O > Popola > 21O > A2
All girls are kind of cute and ranking them is a waste of energy resources.
A rare case when i love the entire game cast.
Some of them, yeah.
I loved it.
I love all the robots.
They are beautiful.
It was alright. Combat was wasted on really shorty enemies, and fighting them felt like a waste of time. Found it hard to care about any of the characters. Pretty mediocre story and all-round game, and got me now replaying the original Nier.
>>382252508
What was there to love? Everyone was wooden as fuck.
>>382249358
still haven't finished it, the diant tower just appeared but I have to babysit pascal's village
I did. I went in with too high expectations that the game didn't live up too. My fault, not the games though.
>>382249358
The first Nier and the first Drakenguard are his best games
>>382253368
>hey platinum give us some fast sick moves
>okay what kinda enemies you want senpai
>just making them stand and hover around and make em really slow like
>do you want some actual fun enemies
>okay but put them at the very end of the game
>>382249358
so far, yep
having a lot of fun as pic related
>>382255779
>YoRHa has technology for teleporting weapons
>YoRHa has telekinetic field technology strong enough to accelerate things like if you were shooting from a railgun
>only one android is creative enough to combine them into barrage of spear throws decimating anything on any distance
>>382254767
same as here, the game was great yeah, but my expectations were at the roof, it feels bad man.
>>382255779
>>382249358
I went into it with an open mind, first Taro game, and I was interested because I heard the man was a fucking nutcase.
>good
I liked the little lighthearted existentialist bits, not DEEP, but fun.
Voice acting was good, at least in JP.
Music fucking fantastic.
Ending E was legitimately amazing.
>okay
World design was meh, though the style was good and movement in general felt very good.
>bad
9S's transition to murderman was not well handled and the game should have found a way to put its side content and writing into the game.
Game Balance was terrible, I refrained from using too many chips so I wouldn't be too OP.
Many side missions should have been part of the main plot, otherwise you miss character details. Seriously, I didn't do my quests in route C,deleted my saveand I want to play through it again to fill in the details.
I think what helped is that I went in and opened myself up to the game a bit. I let the music hit me, even when I saw obvious emotional influence coming my way. Ending E really, really saved the game for me, it brought everything into focus again. Then again I'm a diehard Evafag, and anygame that turns Congratulations into gameplay and applies that show's themes to inter-group conflict gets a pass from me. Hell, I think what got me interested in Taro is that people were throwing the Emil mask onto pictures of Hideaki Anno.
I don't know, it felt fresh. Like Taro was limited on money and time, but tried to do some things that only games can do. He almost relies way too hard on them. For example, when 9S got abducted I FUCKING CARED, and I didn't know WHY I did, because I hardly knew him at that point.
The worst thing about the game is threads, jesus christ, I forgot what its like to be on the recieving end of a bunch of anon's telling you to hate something.
>>382254767
Same here. In fact I spent the whole game underwhelmed, storywise, until ending E blew me away and made me rethink everything entirely.
I think if ending E doesn't connect with you, for whatever reason, then you'll potentially come away from the game really disappointed.
>>382249358
Taro's newest game is my GOTY!!!
>>382255328
This annoyed the everloving shit out of me.
>>382256715
>9S's transition to murderman was not well handled
It actually was. He's still relatively sane at the beginning of route C even when he knows that 2B is dead, even tries to do a few quests for the Resistance, but after each recovery unit his grief about losing her settles deeper and causes him to go crazier.
>>382256715
Are you the autistic Aussie youtuber who kept comparing this to Evangelion?
>>382256875
Ending E is totally my favorite ending to a game in a long time.
Just imagine if we got a director/editors cut, that fixed the issues.
>>382257029
I'm guessing that stuff is part of the sidequests in part C I DIDN'T DO, because the plot seemed to have so much momentum.
>>382257157
>I'm guessing that stuff is part of the sidequests in part C
Oh, missed the Gathering Keepsakes and 2B's flight unit message, you poor thing?
>>382256715
The sidequest where he makes a grave marker for Toobie in the place under the shopping mall is probably the biggest warning sign that 9S is about to go nuclear.
Maybe that should have been a mandatory mission.
>>382256176
>spear throw spam
how'd ya know?
>>382257268
>2B's flight unit messag
Everyone keeps going on about this, but it was really underwhelming.
>>382257293
Definitely should've been. It was the one moment in the game I actually felt a lump in my throat.
>>382257132
Nigga I'm in Florida, I do have ADHD which is comorbid with some symptoms of autism.
I know it totally makes me sound like your average "is that an NGE reference cancer" evafag, but Ending E is totally Eva, to the point the pods could be voiced by Megumi Hayashibara and it would fit perfectly.
The difference is that eva's about the hope that people can overcome boundaries to connect on a personal level, while Automata is more related to inter-group barriers. Turning the ending into a situation where a /pol/tard might help an SJW, or vice versa, finish the game is some damn good shit.
>>382257268
>>382257293
I fucking knew it. Goddamn I feel like a shitter.
>>382257293
>quest begins as a shallow item collecting
>9S gets disturbed by finding out he can't save even resistance members, which obviously reminds him that in the end he couldn't protect 2B
>that fucking moment with 2B's grave in shopping mall with Kaine Salvation playing
I want a beach episode for DLC.
>>382249358
Not really. From the lousy characterisation to the painfully repetitive and shallow world design, quest design, and gameplay. I played the first Nier so I should've seen it coming but I still fell for the hype and got burned.
>>382257759
>reusing music from an older game for emotion
I thought that was weak.
>>382257491
A cold girl who was distancing herself from 9S for the entire game suddenly sacrifices herself for him and leaves him the message basically telling that he was everything for her, and you usually find it at the worst moment possible with sad version of City Ruins playing.
No shit people are going on about this.
>>382257938
That entire location is a homage to first Nier, and a rather powerful one.
>>382257868
So it's not so much the games being bad, you're just an idiot.
>>382258249
No, the game is definitely bad. Me being an idiot for falling for the hype doesn't change that.
>>382256875
I can attest to this because Ending E was underwhelming for me and as a result it made me come away feeling disappointed, and I'm a long-time Taro fan who had played the three previous games before this one
Maybe it's because all of you built it up as the BEST ENDING EVER while I was waiting for it to come out on PC and it was over in like 5 minutes
I made it all the way to "Square-Enix" without dying and beating the rest of the ending was maybe about 2 minutes, I got to read about 8 messages from other people and then it was over
It was also disappointing how Ending A and Ending B are basically the exact same thing, much like the first Nier
Drakengard 1 and 3 had the right idea making them very different and distinct with different bosses
>>382258521
It's not bad though.
needed a twist ending on the moon
hearing taro talk about no big plans for dlc as if se had him by the balls budget-wise was disheartening
>only one boss with a backstory and it was shit
this game was such a let down
>>382259348
We're whalers on the moon
>>382260936
heh
