What is the single player game that you replay over and over

Why is the boxart so good?

Hearts of Iron 2 and 3, I keep clocking hundreds of hours in both of them every year.

I would never understand the appeal of this game. Replayability doesn't matter when half the content is shit (everything before reaching new Vegas pretty much) and the combat is mediocre.

At least for me it didn't.
