I first played it in 2015, it's extremely clunky and can be hard to get into but eventually I greatly enjoyed it. In fact it's the only Bioware game I really enjoyed so I recommend checking it out.

Just be aware that the beginning is the worst part, since the game takes a while to get going and your first party member is insufferable, but it does get better.

The combat is awful, it's like Neverwinter Nights (same engine IIRC) except even worse because you get a lot less options.

Other than that and obviously the graphics it holds up pretty well.

Banner's saga combat could be better , and probably the overall story could be better too. But the art, te atmosphere the little lore tid bits you get here and there really resonated with me.

The game impressed the shit out of me i wholeheartedly recommend it inb4 shill.

Is banner saga actually good or is it a meme game? Multiple people have told me that it's a quite sub-par SRPG when it comes to combat mechanics and encounter design, is it worth getting if I'm interested in the turn based tactics combat aspect more than roleplaying?
