THAT'S THE FUCKING PROBLEM. Crash's whole level design is a fucking optimization, it's intentionally limited by how many polygons can exist on screen at any given time. This was so they could make the assets that were on screen that much more detailed.

Now, there's no excuse, There's no draw distance or anything like that if they're saying the PS4, and not even PS4 Pro, can handle 60 FPS then some graphically feature is crippling this game and is entirely unnecessary. This is the one game that should no excuses be running at 60 and it isn't.

It isn't. It really fucking isn't. A lot of developers do it, but for some AAA producers, it's better marketing to have prettier graphics than a stable, smoother framerate.
Fucking Crash Bandicoot is a corridor platformer. The camera is either static or scripted. Every level was finely tweaked to improve performance. Naughty Dog even pioneered a technique where they would hide various objects behind foliage and other obstacles, so the objects wouldn't have to be rendered until they came into view.
There is no reason why these games should not run at 60fps. Especially not on a PS4 Pro. Had they given the option of a 4K mode where the game was at 30fps, it could be fine, but the 30fps WITH DIPS is a disgrace to the originals.
And people wonder why older Naughty Dog fans aren't happy with the direction they've taken. It's all spectacle and visuals first, game later. So disappointed.

When will they ever learn? Sony hardware is too weak but they are still trying to push graphics. The only way to push graphics at that point is to sacrifice performance. Sit tight, children, the One X version is coming. Don't waste your money on this one.

This fucking game was designed around the very notion of being a crafted masterpiece of technology. Fixed camera angles where they absolutely fine-tuned every last detail to make the game as great looking as humanly possible on the PS1.

These retards just slapped assets together like any small fan group could and call it a day.
The game could look better and top those 60FPS if they actually put in the effort (i.e. had the funds to do so).
But to expect quality of remasters is like asking an Ind to do a good job. It is meant to be a cash-grab so they don't give a fuck and people will still buy it in droves, just like with Ratchet & Clank.
