Can't think of a game is a greater longevity

Arguably the most influential game of all time and it's still tons of fun even if you're just playing through the regular ultimate doom and doom 2, although doom 2's maps aren't very good.

What do you guys think of FreeDoom?

I get motion sick every time I play it, but I love it enough to play for several hours anyway

It was a good game but people really, really overstate it. They also like to ignore the fact that the "sequel" was a awful lazy glorified map pack selling as a full price game.

If i get it right, it's two wads that act like iwads (so they appear in the list among the official wads), which i think had to do with people not getting the main games easily, when getting a source ports.
It has its own levels and designs like it's a different game, but the gameplay is the same.

Smooth Doom just adds more sprites and nice animations and shit
MetaDoom is like "ALL DOOM'S COMBINED", but it still a well done randomizer
SamSara let's you play as 8 classic FPS heroes and get their abilities and weapons
Project MSX is "a slice of Halo without the bullshit, please"
Demonstoole is anime girls with swords
GMOTA is Medieval Doom
Hideous Desctructor is a realism based mod
Metroid Dreadnought is Metroid in Doom
Space Hunter is a NES inspired mod

I only used to use it in Skulltag to use getwad to get DOOM.wad and then use that. You could use the DOOM demo to do the same thing.

I like the idea of it. A free IWAD that lets you play all the custom maps/mods made over all the years. The replaced art is decent, for being free.
