Should I?
It's a 2560x1440 IPS 144 Hz panel at 27''.
I'm scared of BLB and Glow.
Also I'd like to keep it for the next ~4 years or so at least, so wouldn't it be better to wait 6 months or so for Volta and buy a 4k display then?

Really just depends on whether you want 1440p 144hz or 4k 60hz. You won't be able to have both any time soon.
Personally, having 144hz seems better to me but it really depends on what kinds of games you play.
Neither, buy a 240hz 1080p monitor. Real 240hz exists now. It is godlike.

Mostly slower paced stuff or stealth games like Dishonored. Many console ports also only go to 60 fps.
Hence I'm kinda worried I wouldn't use it fully.

>144hz
>1440p
>IPS
That's literally the best monitor type to get now.
1440 p is more than enough for a monitor that size. Also you will not get more than 60 fps at 4k for a while and 144hz is so much better than the transition from 1440 p to 4k anyways.

3440 x 1440 100Hz 34"
>>382232653
There's the VA AGON that's decently priced, was looking at it too.
It's still quite a bit more than this one though.
IPS has horrific display lag

144hz is most notable in first or third person games. I could see it being nice in things like dishonored, but I haven't played it myself.
If you think you mostly play slow paced stuff in general, you might be better off with 4k though.

Get an XR3501 then
>>382232815
>XR3501
>2560x1080
No
>>382229932
If the px is mainly used for games then get it.
If it's also used a lot for movies, internet browsing, work then get a 4k 60.
You'll need a supercomputer for either though
What gpu do you have?
>>382232482
Get a 34" 21:9 monitor, you don't need high resolution or refresh rates for that. 4k is only needed for actual work, 3D, architecture, engineering and video. Maybe racing sims.
>>382232869
AGON is the same res?
>>382232934
Will be switching to Volta eventually.
>>382232812
It is tempting, but that again means waiting. My current GPU isn't really fast enough for 4k and neither are there any reasonably priced 32'' 4k displays.
>>382232951
Worried about compatibility there.
>>382233043
No, it's 3440x1440
>>382233129
>compatibility
Theres a steam curator for that, one of the games that refused to support it was Dota 2 and it got fixed.
>not getting the glorious 32:9 144hz monitor
>>382233382
There is a point when we go from amazing to absurd, and 32:9 is that point, 144hz or not.
>>382233382
Theres a chance 21:9 might catch on, but I'm sure 32:9 will never do.
>>382233528
true, I would probably only get that for work purposes, or to mount it vertically to have a 4ft tall anime waifu on it keeping me company
