Geomancer is a definite possibility after seeing it teased. I think Blue Mage and Dancer are pretty high on everyone's wishlist and I'm no exception. Blue Mage is by far my favorite class in most FF games and if it were added to FFXIV I'd finally have a main. I don't even care what role they'd set it as.

For some reason I've always thought they'd add the Corsair job to the game, with Musketeer as a base class (that would have Machinist branching off it too) with an emphasis on gunplay while improving Machinist's turret abilities. I feel like that would be a lot of work for them that they just aren't going to do. though.

60-70% the damage of a competently played DPS isn't "high damage", it's just high enough that there's actually incentive to play your class well.

There's no incentive to bother trying to be good if the best you can hope for is to do 40% of what the DPS are doing.

Thankfully tanks can still use 270 Slaying at least for the time being, but there's really no recourse for healers, and even for tanks those things aren't going to hold up past the first raid tier.

They've done buffs in smaller patches. Notably, in Heavensward both BRD and MCH had their cast-bar stances buffed from 20% to 30% damage boosts, and AST actually received numerous buffs before 4.1.

However, usually these are reserved for when a class's toolkit is so bad that it's incoherent (Minuet and Gauss Barrel were so bad at 20% that they were often a DPS loss) or if a class is so bad that they basically don't function (AST was unmitigated garbage at HW launch), and not to correct issues where one class is on the bottom of the DPS totem pole even though it basically works fine.

I really enjoyed DNC in FFV. It was a dagger user that wasn't dogshit at dealing damage like THF thanks to their 50% chance (while using at least one DNC-specific gear) to use a barrage-like skill called Sword Dance. HP and MP drain for free are also nice. It obviously was weaker than the broken dual wield + barrage combo, but still was a neat job, and I like when equipment affects how your skills works.
I would love to see them as a DPS in XIV, or at least a different kind of healer (we already have three casters, at least tanks one "half melee half caster" with PLD), like a melee healer instead of a caster, with a bloodbath-like passive that heals a specific target instead of yourself, or something like Fire Eniprisas from Wakfu, that can deal damage and apply debuffs on targets that becomes buffs/healing for your allies if they attack the debuffed target.

Geomancer, Dancer, Blue Mage are at the top of my expectations. I could see a 1h axe beastmaster as a possibility for the novelty of a pet-based tank class.

I play DPS right now though I am working on paladin but I think blue mage would work well as a tank. It'd offer a novel look of a cloth based tank (make it so the relevant stats on DoM gear work a'la Vitality/strength/Ect when worn by a BLU, if they don't go and make BLU based gear specifically a'la DRG), it fits the theme of the area we are liable to go to next (Thavnair and South Ilsabard are referred to as the near east of this world as opposed to North Ilsabard where Garlemand is).

Garlemand is north Ilsabard, a very mountainous and cold and rugged place. South Ilsabard is more temperate/warm and is considered part of the near east.So we would presumably be going to the part of Othard covered by clouds, Thavnair (already going there for the aquapolis of SB, there is a Thavnairian Consulate at Kugane) and South Ilsabard in 5.0.
