Tf2: Than and now

Does this really warrant continued discussion?
They traded these things off to maximize performance when introducing more cosmetics.
These original details offered a little extra substance to the game, but their removal isn't the biggest wrongdoing regarding TF2's evolution.

I don't like how misleading the video is because it doesn't explain any of the differences. Of course weapons aren't going to bounce around when shot, you can pick them up now.

nigger, I used to be able to run tf2 playably on my old craptop that was on life support, now on a slightly better craptop the game is unplayable.
I've watched my framerate for tf2 drop dramatically and short stutters become regular on my good desktop. At one point I could get a stable ~250 fps and now I only get 100 if I'm lucky

Only thing I see is better lighting changes, some cosmetic animations being gone which does suck, and performance optimizations.

Did you even watch the video? Some parts like the sniper now ejects the bolt out the right socket.

It wasnt the original version and water looks the same but the ripples look like the splashes.

The o0nly bad parts are the scouts lighti9ng on the scattergun and the class select and the animations for the syringe gun/rotating cylinders.


Also killing a palyer spawns a ammo box and pickup able gun and I believe the ammo box can be pushed around by rockets.

The minigun is worse, and the sniper problem is now bad for a different reason. The reason the camera pans even further in when showing off the updated ejection is because the case is not only too big, it comes from behind the fucking rifle.

The weapon models have such a low polycount compared to before that it's probably less intensive to render both the low poly weapon and the ammo box than it used to be to render the high poly weapon only.

Only thing Valve needed to do was stamp out the fucking glitches/hacks and patch in maps. Maybe balance the Demoman and Soldier a little (IIRC in the original release they were quite a bit overpowered) but everything else was fine.
