Why is trial 3 so difficult for newbies? You'd think it'd take them a couple of wipes, then they'd know the mechanics and be able to do it. So far, though, in my experiences with it, I've had one good df run. The rest were hour-hour and a half long wipe fests before we either got lucky or vote abandoned.

Sustain removal hurts SMN even more than SCH, because they don't have any reliable way to keep their pets alive in melee range. They really do need to revert the Bane nerf. I find myself using Shadowflare more often, since it seems to do more damage, but it's on cooldown. Whenever tanks do large pulls, I feel like there is very little I can do to help beyond spamming heals. After the entire 3 dots I put down, all that leaves is situational Broil spam, which also costs a lot of mana.

Excog is decent imo. Using it at the right time allows you to do other things (albeit limited things since a lot got removed), while the tank survives whatever bullshit damage is coming his way.

You know what would be awesome? A stance for SCH that increases crit chance. Since a lot of its abilities are enhanced by crit, why the hell not? This actually would make new SCH somewhat fun to play.

Been playing with my bud since 2.0, he's mained WAR the whole time (though he wants to get into RDM because it's been his favorite class since FFI). We've cleared all the content no problem, and he's been doing Tank stuff okay despite SAM parties, he just feels there's jankiness to managing his meter now even if he doesn't want stacks back.

AST if you want to be the best, just the best. Only applies if you're actually drawing and using cards every chance you get though.

WHM if you want to be effective even if all you do is roll your face on your keyboard. Boring, got nothing of value compared to what was taken away, but not in a bad spot.

SCH if you want to level SMN without waiting in DPS queues. Or if you genuinely think having to work twice as hard for the same results is fun.

It's basically the same minus ToD, plus extra GCDs. I wish you could hold more than 5 chakra because with 5 you're pressured to use them immediately lest you waste additional procs. I find Riddle of Fire annoying because it slows you down but other people seem to like it because it makes your numbers bigger. I find the job less flexible now but it's still pretty much the same.

WAR is the tankiest in tank stance, has the best damage in tank stance & has the best mitigation CDs

With the changes to meter management & meter gain WAR can actually chain 20%-30% mitigation infinitely by rotating Vengeance, RI & Rampart with 2-3 Inner Beasts in between each. And that's without even using Thrill.

WAR is perfect aside from lack of utility and trouble switching stances. Once people get the rotation down I think it will be perfectly viable. I think that in a lot of cases WAR is better than DRK.

problem with WAR is that many of the new abilities contradict themselves or are just garbage in the scheme of things, and their new resource bar doesn't play well with the design. it suffers from the same problems other classes have in that the retarded resource bar was just rushed in place because every class had to have one.

regardless you will be able to do all content on a WAR just fine. holmgang is still great and your aoe dps is also still great. hell they aren't even as bad off as PLDs were in HW. you're fucking golden, bro. play that WAR and don't give in.

PoA is a raid-mitigation utility tool. The 100% block rate it gives the PLD is completely secondary.

I should add that WAR having the best self-mitigation isn't even new. It's always been like this, especially since HW where they added RI. It's just more noticeable in SB because they gained Rampart without losing much (both the other tanks "lost" their Rampart equivalent) and also because WARs can actually save their defensives now instead of burning them for stacks.

Can someone explain to me why people are complaining about warriors? All you did in HW was spam storm's eye and made sure you do 3 fell cleaves and a fracture in berserk. That was literally the entire job in HW and now that the job is a little bit more complex with deciding which combos to use to get gauge to 100 without wasting any of the resource by using upheaval at strategic points people complain? Like getting 6 FCs and a thrill of battle buffed upheaval in inner release berserk is really fun and trying to get 4 FCs in a normal berserk is much more engaging to pull off than the 3 FCs and fracture from before.

Is this a meme? Are people just that terrible at warrior that if it offers even a little more complexity they immediately jump ship? Lyse only leads the resistance, which will probably stop existing by the end of the expansion when the country is back on it's feet.

That said Lyse really need to get on her knees and thank the WoL properly, as she wouldn't have an Ala Mhigo without them.
Three quarters of the alliance is shit and Ishgard is still hurting from the change of power, and most of the Scions are shitters, none of them would have been able to stop Zenos and they'd have all ended up dead at his feet.

problem is paladin has higher potency numbers across the board. they should be doing more damage on paper. and they should be doing more damage period because of those numbers, it just comes down to the player and latency. but i agree, overall from my experience tank damage has been relatively equal when OTing, but i've only seen like one warrior hit over 2.8k i've played with, hats off to the guy that did over 3k. shame warriors make garbage MTs if they want to put out MT DPS numbers. people are just flipping their shit about WARs but they aren't that bad off.
