Everyone here says this but I don't really understand why. The animation was definitely not as good, but plot-wise and thematically it was perfect. Shinji's character arc near perfectly reflects Anno's real life. The gay friendship sections were great and the post 3rd impact world proved for an interesting setting. I also liked how the weird live action film that played before actually tied into the film.

My only real complaints are sparse backgrounds, absence of some side characters and the fan service ass pull of the characters not ageing.

I think too many people focus on the plot, when evangelion has always been way more about the characters. The actual plot is purposefully obtuse and pretty generic but it's the characters that really make it special.

Demon Firesage and Stray Demon are both the exact same boss with a recolor. Test it some time, Firesage doesn't even do fire damage. The only difference is colors and tree branches.

M8 their models are different and they use completely separate weapons with unique movesets. BKs use a Greatsword, Ultra GS, Halberd and a Greataxe. SKs use a straightsword, spear and a Greatbow. I'll give you the rest though, Crystal Hollows are just blue Hollows with some shit thrown on them and damage/hp ramped up. The three Demons are all much the same too.

Tbh Eva isn't really suited well to a game adaptation.

The best it could aspire to be would be a game made up of lengthy persona 3-5 style social link sections with a bunch of angel boss battles shoehorned in between. They'd probably struggle to even get 8 hours of content out of it.

Not everything needs a game version. I love 2001 and Synecdoche New York but I don't think they'd make for very good games.
