Destiny Isles is quite obviously the Garden of Eden because it is the origin of the story, every thing is perfect and none of the characters have any motivation to leave until Xehanort (the snake) appears to Riku and tempts him with adventure. It fulfils the archetypical role of the setting.

The X subseries was made after the fact, and as a result I don't factor it into my analysis. It doesn't subvert my interpretation. If anything it illustrates a pre religious, pagan understanding of the Keyblade mythology. It could also represent a pre-enlightenment society. There are many interpretations.

The problem is also that you're promoting a chronological view of the series when the point is that the beginning lies with Sora, the phenomenology of the events is fundamentally based on him being the saviour. And this is completely backed up by so much religious iconography including a Christlike sacrifice that to deny it, again, is idiocy.

Basically he has has his own heart but he's sleeping inside Sora's too.
