Sort of. But I still consider The Empire Strikes Back to be the best Star Wars flick, so take that into consideration as well. I think they could have found a way to design the ending of D1 to sustain player investment through the release of the games full playable conclusion.

The visuals have aged like fucking wine. It has some of the greatest pixel art in any game. The only aspect I could think of to change is the bosses being 3d models, why they did that is beyond me but even then they're still good models for ps1.

Xenogears gameplay was so so, but holy fuck the story was just gripping. I remember when saves get corrupted easily back in the day, but I had to beat it. My saves got lost at least 4 times. And one of them was during disc 2.

If you enjoy 90s JRPGs and Turn Based Combat, you should check out Xenogears. The problem with Xenogears is that if you end up liking it, the last half of the game can be a let down. Otherwise, what the game does through its combat hasn't really been repeated. It's too bad, because it's a great system and they did a lot of great boss fights within the game.
