Dunno if i should bother with the remake they put out
>>382155046
Skyroads, motherfucker.
Man DOS had so many good games. And so many shitty ones. Gotta fire up my 8GB DOS game archive sometime.

Can anyone remember some Conan or Barbarian game where you could wander through some sort of conan-inspired world. It had some sidescroller sections otherwise you clicked on a section of the city.
Props to any anon who finds it.

My fuckin niggers
I grew up on dos games when we were already in the ps2 era because we were poor, kids at school never had any idea what the games i was talking about were
I'm always searching for games that really capture those old action side-scrollers. The sounds, the look, the clunkiness.

You are like little baby.
Watch this!
I can never figure out these early childhood DOS games I played and I've searched fucking everywhere.
The first is this game with falling balls where you have to collect hearts to open a door by pushing rocks and stuff and there would be chain reactions. I think it was like a side scrollerish puzzle type thing.
The second was this weird platformer game with like... ladders, and fire, and collecting stuff. You were this guy I think. And you jump over stuff and climb. It kind of had the graphical style of Hocus Pocus I think. Side scroller with like lava or something. I seem to recall there being golden chalices or something like that you have to find. The thing I remember most are these weird like ladder things over fire or something.
The last one I have 0% hope anyone will be able to figure out. It was this weird cowboy game in the wild west with these really pixelated graphics (I think) and a few different styles of levels. One with a cop guy in a jail, another with like... blowing dustbowl stuff, another just a regular cowboy. I have no fucking idea. Side scroller. I most remember there being a weird level select screen with like 6 levels and each one was in a different setting. Also it had weird pixelated graphics.
Lots of great DOS games but also lots of garbage
does anyone remember a top down plane game similar to raptor or tyrian but not an on-rails shmup? like just one big level with ocean and islands etc can't remember much but you could go really damn fast
i have no mouth and i must scream
I used to play so much Death Rally that the disc became too worn to be readable any more.

Abuse is fucking awesome. Fun fact, it was supposed to have a soundtrack but the most common versions are bugged and don't play music at all, which arguably improves the atmosphere.
>>382170069
Is the first one Supaplex?
go down to the sugar shack
>>382170069
desu I'm lying, I did figure out the first one was heartlight but never the other two
>>382168964
Fuck. Yes.
Hocus Pocus was fucking awesome
I didn't even get to play it until I got it on Steam in that bundle
Catacombs is also pretty entertaining
>>382169472
I was obsessed with this until I finally got the princess ending. Considered trying to get other interesting endings, but couldn't find the motivation.
Hope you've got a pen and pad handy motherfucker
Original mustard race game coming through.

This game is great but blind areas fuck my shit up
>>382170054
Having only played it recently, even though I understand how to do everything correctly, that game is fucking impenetrable.
>>382170980
It's funny how people complain about rng now. They've never lost 3 in a row trying to rez at the temple.
granted, some of these have ports, but most of the time they're not worth mentioning. ever tried playing pic related on genesis or snes? it's painful without a mouse.
>>382170183

>>382170069

>>382170069

god damn I've been thinking about this for like 7 years and I found it connected to the Clyde's adventure youtube vid. I swear I searched like 10 DOS game sites years back for hours and couldn't find it
now I found it immediately

The first Elder Scrolls isn't a great game but man I will never forget deleting walls and floors with my dagger to get around 6 consecutive locked doors to an important room.
What a fucking surprise that game was when I decided to randomly try it out.
>>382171648

i loved the humor in this game. so dated (dan quayle references?!) and dorky, but also completely unself-conscious of it.
i don't remember how to beat that puzzle, but i remember how to get the keys on the left and middle sections
the guy from pic related went on to help apogee make the build engine (or did the whole damn thing himself, i can't remember)

Loved playing DOS games growing up, and had DOSBOX on my flash drive during college. Played Dark Sun, Master of Magic, Prince of Persia, Commander Keen, and Star Goose. Recently picked up Krondor from GOG.

300 players in a huge persistent map with cappable airfields and multiple players in different positions in one aircraft. All on DOS starting in the late 80s.
