It's wild that people think Titanfall 2 is better than the first. The first is so much faster paced and more fun.

Titanfall feels exactly like Advanced Warfare, Infinite Warfare, and Black Ops III.

Gamers seem to really complain when people try to do something different (titanfall) and then love it when they fall into the same shit as their competitors.

played the trial from e3 with all multi for a week - its trash. holy fuck is it bad. its like they took everything that was good about titanfall 1 and stripped it from the game. maps are absolutely terrible. movement is shit. weapons are horrible. titans dont feel good at all to play as or against. theres no combat to speak of - just who shot first. its like a worse cod with annoying mechs around. you also cant make a difference anymore with how terrible the mechs are. maps are so bad too. TF1 felt like a world that was alive and shit was going down. you could control resources and punish people for attacking the npcs. netcode is so bad now too.

I've put in 40 hours since the last day of that trial they had not too long ago, the game is incredibly fun. I love fucking with Titans and stealing their batteries to supply the team with.

It's not "Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice" like people claim, its more along the lines of "Once bitten, twice shy". This has always been a reoccuring trend with games, they make a lackluster product at first and then when the sequel actually comes out and is good, it sells poorly.

Also how come they're porting over all maps from TF1 into TF2? I'm not complaining though I am genuinely curious as to why.

Main reasoning for 2's maps being bad is because of how fundamentally different the game originally was. Then they had a public beta, got a shit ton of feedback, and retroactively changed major parts of the game so people would like it. They realized that you simply cannot try and appeal to a wider audience, as that alienates the previous one. It's a lesson that companies like Capcom would do well to learn.

For one, the game was generally just much slower and much more ground-based. Crash Site and Complex have lots of contradictory designs to the movement system of TF2 since it was going to be a slower paced, more infantry/tank thought game but they sped up the movement and made tweaks from there.

CS and Complex have lots and lots of steps and blocking tiny little rubble and shit that gets in the way of sliding and strafing, along with a "corridor" like design. They added ziplines in CS to make the corridors flow faster for players and made it "bearable" but barely. Complex is just the cramped map of the game.

But funny enough, Forward Base Kodai, Eden and the other vanilla new maps are cool. It's just those two that feel like shit compared to the rest.
