>>
>>382115193
>Can emulate the same games for free

I wouldn't pay for it at all desu~
>>
I'd pay about 15 bucks for one of those fresh controllers to use elsewhere. That's about it.
>>
>>382115193
nothing, I still have my original SNES
>paying to emulate
LMAO
>>
>>382115193
for that much money I can just get an actual SNES with multiple games.
oh wait I already did.
>>
If they made an N64 classic, that'd be something I'd pay up to $150 for, but this? No.

Does anyone know if the StarFox 2 rom that comes with the SNES mini is the same one that the fans completed or does it differ?

I ask because I still have my actual SNES and I have been wanting to buy a StarFox 2 repro cartridge.

I think it's the same rom, but they went and finished the game. Not sure how it's gonna differ from the fan completed version.

what's the appeal? just get a fucking snes controller with a usb cable for 20 dollars and you get the entire fucking catalog of snes games instead of just 30

only thing about them worth noting will be the controllers

80 dollars if i cant get it for 80 dollars i will just not have it

What offends me the most is Nintendo not giving a shit about this. Bunch of assholes. At least try to make it harder for scalpers by limiting amount of consoles for adress or number of orders at a time.

Can you buy a quality SNES controller with a USB plug?

Is that a thing?

Everywhere I go says "strictly 1 per customer".

You can still preorder the item anyways, so I don't know why there's so much hysteria at the moment.

>>

>>
Even at 500 dollars this system is a steal. Nintendo games appreciate in value far more than anything else. It's also why they never go on sale because they're all a cut above calllodoody Sony garbage. You could not even get the same 21 games and snes system for 500 if you
Bought the originals
>>
>>382117753
The real question is why doesn't Nintendo just take preorders directly from their websites and then produce enough for every preorder?

20 bucks maybe, if the case is good quality. The actual hardware in the machine has no value but it would make a neat case for a pi or something. We still own most of the SNES games I cared about, and we only had to emulate a few that weren't released here.

I'd drop a few hundred on it if it were a functional SNES and they started reprinting the library. Even if it were just a platform for their online store that also had a cart slot.

this, we've been able to emulate SNES reliably since the turn of the century.

There are SO many good games on the SNES that are not in the mini classic, it'd feel pointless to want to have the hardware with built in games without all the games I want for the system, like how about an official translation of Seiken Densetsu 3, or Tales of Phantasia, how about Lufia 2? Where's the other DKC games? Where's the other Megaman X games? Where the fuck is Chrono Trigger, which is one of the best SNES games and the best SNES RPG?

This. I didn't give a shit about the NES so this didn't bother me, but the SNES Classic is something I'd actually want and to be fucked over this hard because Nintendo wants to produce so few "consoles" really just makes me not want to waste time or money on their garbage.

Same with the Switch, where I'd like one now, but again they barely produced any and now the prices are $100+ higher than they normally should be. Makes no fucking sense when suddenly their shit is in high demand, and they refuse to issue out more of them.

>understock it to create fake hype

That's not their goal. They never intended to mass product these things. Why would they sell 20 games +hardware for $60 when they can sell each game for $10 each on the virtual console?

They only want to generate hype and boost their brand. That's why they're limited runs.

My strategy with video game related stuff in recent years has been wait until it gets cheaper. But I guess that's not an option with this.
>>
>>382118683
You are thinking of Wii U VC which adds some sort of tint for seizure reasons. Wii was pretty much perfect and had a 240p mode to play at original resolution.

NES games don't really have a "right" color because of how NES handled video. You can have 3 different NES and get 3 different colors for Mario's sky.
>>
>>382120201
Not him, but I'm ultra picky about controllers, their controllers are as close as I am personally aware for third party to emulate the originals. I find their SNES controller's d-pad to be a bit mushy (which is honestly present in the original too), but all the buttons feel nice, start and select have just the right feel of the rubberized plastic, and the build quality is good. Maybe a little light, but even through bluetooth I experience basically no lag.
>>
Does anyone know why the US controllers for the SNES were purple?

I always liked the US design of the SNES better but I like the colored buttons better than the varying shades of purple

In the 80s consoles were seen as a dying fad. So when it came time to pitch the NES to stores they made it look like a VCR so it was cool. The same guy redesinged the super famicom and went purple shades since primary colors usually mean kids toys in the US.

Right, it's for cancerous collectors, literal children or millenials too stupid to emulate. Might be some poor souls too who don't realize this isn't SNES hardware and think they're actually buying something that isn't just a stripped down Pi.

Sounds like whiteboi is intimidated by my superior SNES collection of impressive length.

>tfw my greater profit was actually the 20th Anniversary PS4

Nothing feels better than instant thousands of dollars. Not even a reseller fag, but I just couldn't pass that up when I was around the page when it first went up.

Interesting, I guess that makes sense (even if I don't agree with the philosophy)

I may still try to pick one up to scalp.

Do you really think these will sell for a profit? I preordered just one and I might end up reselling because I don't really even like it.

This is why piracy of older games is on the rise. This and DLC/DRM bullshit.

We just want to play video games and not be bogged down by artificial pay gates.

Well, your "we" isn't their "we". We who just want to play video games can already play these games, either by emulating them or by having the old hardware. with the exception of star fox 2, before some ultra autist points it out

But as their sales numbers show, these things are being bought en masse. Why? Not to "just play games". Everyone who wants to already can.

They make these for normies. Besides normies, a minority of enthusiasts buys it, but that's it.

All I hear is good about these 8bitdo controllers, hope they make Sega Saturn controllers some day.
>>
>>382123421
I'm not sure it's normies buying this stuff honestly, normies don't give a fuck about old videogames. It's literally autismo bucks being reaped.

Adidas does this for their shoes that people like to resell/scalp in my country at least

It's the best move possible. You don't underproduce nor overproduce. You sell the maximum you can and everyone is happy with the product.

This. Bought 10 of them to resell 200 bux to retards though. All the money will be used to buy loli hugpillows and games on Steam

By the look of this, might as well just use my ps4 controller.
>>
