I miss Makoto so fucking much. The two months I spent playing this game are the best in recent memory.

She's not, she just doesn't have friends or otherwise have normal interactions with normal people her age until joining the group. Being book-smart and people-dumb doesn't necessarily equal autism.

Similarly, Yusuke's weirdness most likely just comes from his growing up in an artist commune and being raised by a rich dude rather than some sort of autism. The fact that he's in a line of work where being a fucking weirdo is expected also contributed to this, I'd guess.

Futaba, on the other hand, almost certainly has some form of high-functioning autism. A lot of her issues are rooted in PTSD, yeah, but from what you hear about her younger days she was still clearly very "different" before losing her mom.
