I get what you are getting at, but dragonrider is literally one of the easiest bosses in the entire series. He has no health and is incredibly slow. If he had picked say Pursuer or Smelter Demon or Gargoyles (in both 1 or 2) then it wouldn't be a problem.

When I finally beat Kos I was 1 hit away from dying, no vials and the fucker was charging at me. I used what little health I had left to make bullets and through some cosmic fuckery actually managed to parry him. I felt like I was the best BB player in whole godamn world.

This experience single-handedly makes Manus the best boss in DaS1. I'd always turtled my way through him with Artorias' Greatshield but on my NG++ cleric run I was 2handing the dragonslayer spear and insisted on beating him that way out of principal. Took me 3 days of agony but by the time I actually killed him I didn't get hit once. The relief and smug self-satisfaction was palpable.

All of battletoads. Especially the turbo tunnel.

It is a legitimate criticism of any souls thread. If you don't know how to get him to charge off, it's probably not going to happen. Even OP somehow managed to have a really close fight, and people are missing the point and just going "you didn't make him fall off, are you someone who didn't know you could do that and had a difficult time with a Souls boss? kek"

I remember when I first played through DaS1 on release, and I had a bunch of stupid questions that people helped me with.
The whole "git gud" thing was kind of just a joke. A little good natured jab back then. It's sad that the joke overtook the entire fanbase. It's like everyone slowly went hollow or something.

Online is truly a fucking cancer for Souls. It's good in concept, but it's full of cheaters and gank squads. My casual friend ended up dropping DaS1 because he kept getting invaded in undead parish by twinks that he was outplaying, but they just had way better gear. He really liked the solo game, but just gave up because the online left such a horribly bad impression.
