I really wanted to like this game but it feels like I've been playing a tutorial for the last 10 hours. The game keeps forcing me to waste my days on story stuff and waste my nights for no reason so now I need to spend real days to make coffee or lockpicks instead of getting the stats I need for social links.

And the story sucks because everyone you know is literally retarded. In a modern day setting where everyone has a smartphone they're talking about committing crimes out in the open or over text and they even have a website. Yeah the president recorded them once but anyone even a little suspicious of these two kids with a history of violence threatening their teacher to change his mind could get their phone records or find out that kid is the owner of the phan-site and interrogate him.

It's exactly the same as 3/4 only it's a lot flashier and doesn't have randomised dungeons.
Though the flashiness is in your face way too much and the new dungeons are just as bad as the old.

The main dungeons aren't randomized but it's a lot like Tales of Symphonia where every time you see a new puzzle/mechanic the game stops to explain how it works before you have a chance to figure it out on your own. And it does have randomized P4 dungeons that you have to go through for sidequests or grinding since beating the palace 4 days into the deadline means it's gone forever.

the story overall was the weakest in any SMT I played
the whole school aspect was far weaker than P4
the waifu options were ok but not great (except makoto)
and the whole game was just so slow, I skipped so much dialog because it was just the same stuff over and over again and eventually I couldn't care about it anymore

Because Persona 4 is essentially the same thing in the dungeon department save for the fact that each dungeon gets a new coat of paint, but Persona 3 has a much better story, OST, and atmosphere.

Better story and atmosphere, that's arguable. It depends on what you prefer, p4 is more plot heavy because a lot of shit happens during the game whereas in 3 it's mostly " hey tartrarus and full moon shadows" then nothing happens then suddenly "oh look the chairman is a dick", and the atmosphere is darker in 3 than in 4 but it's normal because the themes are completely different.

Persona 3 fucking sucks you just give it points for starting S.Linking. otherwise it's worthless.

Persona 4's setting was comfy as fuck social linking felt good but repetitive and predictable and meme villain twist.

Persona 5 has better gameplay less repetition and a 6/10 main story that actually is interesting. Cool characters but the pacing gets bad towards the end. Final boss was Meh and main villain isn't as interesting as they wanted but still quite an improvement.

the whole part at the end where you descend mementos and then shoot a god in the face was kinda cool but seemed super tacked on. its just like 4 where Izanagi just came out of nowhere

3 still has the best ending (the month leading up to it was really great), but too bad about the pacing on the rest of the game which was fucking garbage
