They seem more complimentary than anything.

Grinding EXP is easy shit. The 40AP quest gives like 15k master exp which constantly levels you up and refills your AP at low master levels.

Ascension mats grinding is the true hell before events where they just give them out.

They give you drops for skill upgrades and ascensions. Better to do XP for now but its better to do those once you're capped/near cap.

No other combination helped me beat the lvl 40 quest except by getting another jeanne. I thought with 2 jeannes i would lack damage but I just laugh away at their damage.
