Dragon's Dogma is one of those games that you look at and think "holy shit, this thing is fucking amazing, I must have it!" and then you get actually get your hands on it and the illusion falls apart very quickly.

The combat is all flashy and dramatic but has zero depth whatsoever. The climbing gimmick never goes anywhere. The world is quite possibly the most stiff and dead one I have ever seen in an open world setting, including fixed spawns, which is probably the most fucking stupid thing to do in this kind of game. The story is almost non-existant and you're just thrown into situations feeling like you have arrived midway through some important happening and you never feel like you're part of anything. I mean, the game throws a fucking dialogue prompt at the very ending where you can finally learn about core concepts because it's a rushed piece of shit and it shows. It was also generic as all fuck with the usual HURR KILL GOD/BECOME GOD DURR retardation you'd expect from a random generic jrpg.
