What was it like owning an Atari 2600

I dunno. I tried to get one at a garage sale in the late 90's, but the guy changed his mind as I was handing him the cash.

Thing never fucking works and the switches do nothing.

I got one last October. I still don't know how to get the damn thing to come in clearly on my screen even with the tv switch.

I was born in 1990 but my brother still had one. It was honestly just another video game system to me, I didn't think of it as "old", I seriously thought the thing was made in the 90s for a long time even though it was so obviously worse looking than the NES. I was just a stupid kid.
But yeah, it was weird because I fucking loved Pitfall even though I'd already played Mario games.

It was alright if you lived isolated in a mountain but if you lived anywhere near civilization you had access to arcades you could see how much of a watered down experience atari was. I had to stick with one until 1993 when we got an NES.
