A big beetle might be able to toss it and maul it while defending the pincer with it's shell. Bug fights are usually shit because the box is so small that both animals get confused. There are a few good fights where the box is larger and made to simulate a more natural environment. Why they always include the praying mantis is beyond me though as it's obviously made to ambush and not brawl. Same with most spiders as they lack the shell. Overall the best bugs in the bug fights are those with a heavy ass shell. Regarding the hornet it's just too small to threaten an emperor scorpion. Also it's evolved to swarm unlike the scorpion. My top picks would be something like
