Japanese get motion sickness from FPS very easily apparently. They call it "3D sickness". I've heard even slower games, like Minecraft can cause this after some time. I think the most popular FPS released in Japan was Goldeneye 64 (not a JP game, but still)

I don't get why swords in first person are all ways vertical. The only reason could be to show off more of the sword, but in shadow warrior's case the sword doesn't really have that special of a design. I've seen horizontal swords done in first person games and it actually looks good.
