I'm tired of this meme. The music in Sonic R is niche as fuck, and has no place with the sort of atmosphere that the Sonic games try to have. The Sonic R ost was the culmination of SoA's heads trying to force their shitty taste in music into the Sonic games (Sonic CD suffered from this a bit, as well), and it shows.

Anyway, Sonic R is a neat idea with awful execution.

At least the Saturn version made a really short game slightly longer thanks to its bug.

Not really. It controls like shit (Turning in place should not take nearly as long as it does), and the characters are incredibly imbalanced.
