If it's like 2 in quality, I don't want Outlast 3 at all.

Outlast doesn't need more games.
And it would be pointles to retroactively fit combat into the old ones.
But yes, I think horror games in general are better with the ability to hopelessly fight back.

The second game was trash. If they added combat, it'd just be a less interesting Condemned though

Resident evil 7 did it and it was a 10/10 game

Here's how I think combat should work in a horror game; you should get a nice variety of melee and ranged weapons to kill minor enemies but they shouldn't do much to the major enemies.
