Just buy a Raspberry Pi for a fraction of the price.

Why do you keep making these threads?

nintenbabs are too dumb to use an emulator

Raspberry pi is great but its price is misleading
You need
-micro sd card
-5v power cable
-video cable
-usb/bluetooth controller (protip: don't use bluetooth)
-case (I use legos)
Depending on what you already have around the house the price will vary

why do anti-nintendo spergs resort to misinformation so often?
>>

All this is going to add up to $300 while the SNES Classic is $80.

This is collection of emulators. I have all the games already on emulator. (barring star fox 2 of course). I want this game more than I want a child. I've been hitting f5 on the amazon store page since the announcement of the product yesterday.

Well, Nintendo is planning to release the complete version of Star Fox 2 (that was never sold on the market for the original) along with the SNES Classic, however, that's the ONLY reason why I would consider buying one.
>>
People are more comfortable buying an official product than a cheaper bootleg. Call it being a corporate drone all you want, but brand names carry consumer interests, that's just basic economics.
>>
I just have a hacked Wii that plays every nintendo game from it's own generation downwards.

Why don't more people do this? It's braindead easy. There's literally no reason to be buying these scalper-bait normie machines.
>>
>>382029476

>Can I just buy one with a complete case?

You can buy complete kits. They usually even come preloaded with an OS. (But if you're going to use it for emulation, you'll need to load a different OS on it)

They work well enough. Only problem is that all the emulation operating systems are based on shitty RetroArch ports. Some improve performance a little more than others, but you definitely don't want to use the more standard RetroPie. It has too many bugs, and the default configs are garbage. Anyone who says otherwise is just shilling for donations.

-micro sd card
You can make the Pi boot purely off of USB now so any spare USB stick. You'll need a microSD so you can change the boot config but you can just borrow one or any size will do.

https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/hardware/raspberrypi/bootmodes/msd.md

-5v power cable
Meaning a USB charger, most people usually have a spare cell phone charger but these are super cheap anyway <$5

-video cable
You should have a spare HDMI cable in 2017

-usb/bluetooth controller (protip: don't use bluetooth)
The Pi3 comes with WiFi and Bluetooth built in now

-case (I use legos)
Arguably the most expensive part besides the Pi itself and it's completely optional. Just tape the thing behind your TV and you won't even know it's there.

Why do you complain so much about this?

I get that you can always emulate and also understand others' frustrations for Nintendo taking down roms, but it's not like this will replace PC or console gaming. This is just like an OPTIONAL add-on for your home's entertainment center. You clearly don't have any intention to purchase and enjoy it, so why do you have to sour other people's genuine excitement for this? How will the enjoyment of this affect you?

It's very unlikely that Sony and Microsoft will follow suit on this and that plug-and-play will take over and ruin gaming for you.

No offense to you, OP, or other anons. I'm just curious.

Those are definitely valid reasons, but those will never justify shitposting like this.

Also, i have emulated shit all my life, and i still would buy it, mainly because:

>star fox 2, nuff said.
>an easy to set up emu box, wii u and ps3 arent reliable enough for my taste.
>a decent design and 2 free controllers.
>even the fucking raspi zero w is expensive as hell here in mexico (1200peso for a 200peso pcb? Really!?)
>theres people who still believe in doing the right thing for all those years (and counting) of piracy.

And im sure theres millions of people thinking alike.

Already had it. It was a meh title.

>an easy to set up emu box, wii u and ps3 arent reliable enough for my taste.
Then get a good PC which can be connected to a TV and you can use any controller you want.

>a decent design and 2 free controllers.
For 100 bucks it better be free.

>even the fucking raspi zero w is expensive as hell here in mexico (1200peso for a 200peso pcb? Really!?)
I could get a 400 dollar laptop with better specs to be honest.

>theres people who still believe in doing the right thing for all those years (and counting) of piracy.
Yes, it's the "right thing" to have to pay 300+ dollars for a box because Nintendo purposely stopped stocking them so the only people left who have them are scalpers. Thank you Nintendo.

>Did they never hear of emulators?

you need a pc to emulate
you need to put the pc on the TV to make it work,
you need to drag the TV out ot its place and conect the pc there
you will need a extra conector for all the pc cables
you need to find the best resolution that works on the TV
then you need to buy USB adaptors onr USB controlers
each one needs a diferent set of drivers to make it work.
then you need to open the emulator with your bluetooth mouse, because the TV is away
then it will not work because you did not configured the BIOS.
after downloading the bios the controler will not work and you will need to find another bios that will work with it
then you will configure the controler and some butons will not work
you will need to open the controler and switch the little rubber inside for another broken controler you have
then you will start the game and it will run at 5 fps
Emulation is bullshit

You can just get Kodi and use the emulation addon that downloads roms for you. You just pick how much space that roms can take up and it cycles the space depending on what you've recently played. ROMs take less than 1 second to download so it doesn't really matter unless you don't plan to have internet. You can get away with 1-2GB easily and still have the entire library of PS1 and below at your fingertips.

>>
>>382050574
Technically no. Without regarding ebay and assuming you don't have everything, you could find a Super Nintendo for a relatively cheap price, but a Super Everdrive flashcard is about $85 - $90 with the cartridge frame included. Add that to whatever you can get for the Super Nintendo and add whatever price you pay for an decently-sized SD card, it will put you over some $120+ dollars.
The plus side is that you will have 100% compatibility and 100% access with all SNES games so it's arguably cheaper for the value you get out of it.

Not really. You said it yourself: These motherfuckers just eat anything up. Nintendo are literally just trading on their nostalgia now, and acting like a toy company would.

Which makes them money in the short term, but widens the gap between Nintendo toys, and PC/Sony/M$ video games machines.

For me its mostly nostalgia, thats it. The SNES was my first console and i barely had a year with it since my parents sold it while i was in school to get me a N64(someone broke into our place a 2 years after and stole said N64).
I have played almost all of those games on snes9x and on a friendĀ“s SNES in the case of super metroid and Contra 3 but i still want to own a one and this one comes with most of my favorites.
Pic related was the model of my SNES, it came with Killer Instinct and a cd with its sountrack (it also got stolen cause it was inside the cd player that one day, rip)
